Premature Ejaculation - Talk to your Doctor

Initiating a conversation about Premature Ejaculation with your doctor may seem awkward at first. But there are two things you must remember:

  1. This is nothing new to your doctor, global studies consistently report that 20-30% of men experience PE worldwide. Chances are he or she has spoken with many other patients about the same issue
  2. The sooner you speak with your doctor, the sooner you can pursue a treatment for this condition

Despite how awkward you may feel, do not forget that there are possible treatments for this condition, and your doctor knows about them. Your silence is only hurting you, and a few quick sentences can set you on your way to a happier sex life.

Here are some suggested conversation starters for you to use to begin an important dialogue with your doctor.

  • “I heard there are different treatments for Premature Ejaculation, do you have any materials I can look at?”
  • “I used to last longer when having sex, do you think there is a medical reason for this?”
  • “Could any of the medicines I’m taking be causing Premature Ejaculation?”
  • “I’ve been really stressed lately, and I think it’s having an effect on my sex life.”

Try using one of these conversation starters next time you speak with your doctor. Remember, these are only suggestions, whatever you need (or choose) to say, you are one step closer to treating your condition.
